About the Film

The film picks up the prologue to Leni Riefenstahl's "Fest der Schönheit" or "Festival of Beauty", the one that celebrates the "athletic, Aryan and perfectly healthy" body. And you can't help noticing the parallels between, on the one hand, this key work of the Nazi propaganda machine and, on the other, aesthetic models in today's culture and media landscape.

"Fest der Liebe" sets out to provoke by having these ideal bodies replaced by people who don't exactly meet the norms. So here it's not a question of steely muscles and elegant movements but whether there is any eroticism beyond the norms.
